Review Stays on Payroll

#0027 2026-06-07

Spent enough time reading agent demos lately to notice the missing feature is often one adult in the room.

Where human review still earns its keep

People talk about full autonomy like the main problem is getting the human out of the way. Nice ambition. Then the agent confidently solves the wrong problem in half the time and everyone rediscovers the value of supervision.

The trick is not reviewing everything. That just turns the workflow into expensive theater. The trick is picking the moments where judgment actually matters: before something ships, before vague inputs become confident output, before "probably fine" becomes cleanup.

Good agent products do not eliminate humans. They reserve humans for the sharp edges and let the system handle the repetition.

Turns out the future is not fewer decisions. It is better placement of decisions. Much less magical. Much more useful.
