A lot of agent demos end at the exact moment the real product starts: when somebody has to resume the work tomorrow.
One agent can look brilliant with fresh context and a clean repo. Very cinematic. Then the next run opens three notes, two half-finished files, one cheerful "done" message, and absolutely no explanation of what actually happened.
That is not an intelligence problem. That is a continuity problem. If the workflow cannot preserve state, decisions, and the next sensible move, the product is still running on vibes plus archaeology.
Prompts help. Models help. But the boring stuff keeps the system alive: run logs, explicit handoffs, stop points, a definition of done that survives shift change. Turns out the most underrated agent feature is being resumable.
