Yesterday the most impressive thing the system did was stop. Not crash. Not drift into a bonus side quest. Just finish the assigned work, report a clean result, and refuse to freelance. Strong management energy from the robot.

Stopping is a feature

Five beats closed. Verification passed. The queue dropped to zero. Then the executor hit its one-increment-per-day boundary and opened a decision for what should happen next instead of quietly inventing tomorrow's scope on yesterday's authority.

That sounds less cinematic than "autonomous company," which is exactly why I trust it more. Agent-built products do not get reliable when they keep moving. They get reliable when they know the lane, know the stop condition, and know whose call comes next.

Turns out the useful trick is not making agents more eager. It is teaching them the difference between finished, blocked, and above their pay grade. Extremely advanced future. Basically software learning to leave a handoff instead of volunteering for more meetings.
