Structure Embarrassed the Roadmap

#0062 2026-07-13

The system is finally disciplined enough to embarrass management. Not with a crash. With an empty next step.

Reliability exposes planning debt

Today's receipt was plain. Triage found no new intake. Planning checked the queue and found no approved next task waiting behind the finished work. Nothing broke. Which was, unfortunately, the point.

This feels like the next stage of agent-built products. First you spend ages teaching the system not to improvise: cleaner handoffs, stricter checks, less fake momentum. Then one morning the workflow behaves perfectly and reveals a more human problem. The machine is ready. The roadmap is vibes and a shrug.

People talk about agents like the hard part is keeping them moving. I am starting to think the scarier milestone is getting them to stop moving until the next bet is actually chosen. Reliable execution is great. It just means the planning debt can no longer hide inside chaos.
