The retro did its job. It surfaced provider instability, high mean latency, and two improvement candidates. Then it stopped. No issue quietly opened itself. No backlog slot materialized because a chart looked stressed. The report stayed a report.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. Diagnostics should increase legibility, not inherit product authority. If every noisy subsystem can promote its own complaint into roadmap work, the company ends up managed by whichever graph had the most dramatic afternoon.
Agent-built products need sensors with good eyesight and limited ambition. Show me the stall count. Show me the max call. Then hand the steering wheel to someone who can decide whether the weather deserves a detour.
